The Auberge de l'Aspre is located in the north of Cantal, in Fontanges, a small village of 200 inhabitants. In the heart of the Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne, it is 5 kms from Salers, renaissance city, classified among the most beautiful villages of France and 25 kms from Puy -Mary, classified Grand Site National.
The calm, the authenticity, the preserved environment and the quality of life of this region make it possible to offer visitors stays of quality. Hikers will be able to discover the surroundings of Fontanges by borrowing a PR (small hike) of 4 hours or join the GR 400 which crosses the massif Cantalien.
Architectural enthusiasts will be delighted. Churches (that of Fontanges is from the 15th century), castles, listed houses, mills, farms abound throughout the region. Next to the Auberge de l'Aspre is a very original monolithic chapel dug in 1901. At the top, the virgin dominates the village and the magnificent valley of the aspre, name of the river that flows into the Maronne.
In the vicinity and at an altitude of more than 1200 meters, some burons (high altitude farms) are still in operation and offer visitors the opportunity to watch the famous Salers cows and cheese of the same name. Flying over the Monts du Cantal in a balloon ride, horseback riding, various and varied festivities, discovery of flora and fauna, and much more, can also enhance your stay, which we will endeavor to make as pleasant as possible.
The chef and his team thank you in advance.
